Sydney Trains are currently going through a major capital investment program to support their strategic focus and reviewing ageing assets and improving reliability and performance across the network. As such, they are looking for multiple Civil Project Engineers to work on these upgrade projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a variety of construction projects on behalf of Sydney trains
  • Manage and control construction works and the associated worksites, acting as Sydney
  • Trains Principal Contractor representative, as delegated.
  • Implement risk mitigated and safe culture based construction management processes, controls and systems to ensure consistency across all worksites, work teams and sub-contractors.
  • Manage and direct the delivery of construction projects as allocated to ensure construction projects are delivered to agreed objectives and deliverables within the project.
  • Manage site interfaces with other adjacent construction works.
  • Provide technical and construction methodology advice to stakeholders as to the safest and most cost-effective delivery of the works.
  • Execute safety responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities consistent with Sydney Trains safety management system requirements which are defined in SMS document number SMS-02-RG-3058.
Key Requirements
  • Extensive experience working on similar type projects in Australia
  • A methodical approach, high attention to detail and take responsibility for the quality and accuracy of own work
  • Well-developed communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach with the ability to foster interpersonal relationships across all levels
  • Required to work outside of normal hours, night shift, weekends and public holidays.
  • Possess current Class “C” driving licence.
  • Possess RIW card and TfNSW operator role.
